Your instructor may accidentally make an error in creating your assignment. When you run into the problem, you’ll see a page titled, An Authoring Error has Occurred in OWL. When this error happens, your instructor is automatically notified. It may take a day (or more if it happens on the weekend!) for it to be fixed.
If the error is only in the construction of a particular question, you can go on to work on other questions in the assignment. If it is a QuestionPool type assignment, you may have to stop work on the unit in which the question resides and just work on the other units. Then when the question has been fixed, you can return to work on it and/or the unit it is in.
If the error has to do with how the assignment is structured in general, you may not be able to work on it at all. In this case, you can work on another assignment or just wait until the problem is fixed.
