Overview

OWL (Online Web-based Learning) is a homework system that you use over the web. It was originally created at the University of Massachusetts and is now used by thousands of students. Only OWL registered users working with a web browser can access the system.

Assignment questions are graded automatically by OWL, and the results are stored in a database. You can work on assignments at any time before the due date. Your instructor may also allow you to try questions or units over and over again. Only your best score is kept. After the due date, you can also continue to access assignments for practice or to study for an exam, but you won’t be able to change your grade.

Make sure you try to log in to OWL well before your first assignment is due. Rostering problems may take a day or so to fix, and you want to make sure that you can successfully log in so that you have time before the due date to work on your first assignment.
