Answer Page

Each time you submit a question to be checked, you will get a new answer page. An answer page has 3 parts: Score, Answer(s), and Feedback.

Score:

The Score section displays how you did on the question. Basically it tells you if you got the question right or not. The exact text will depend on the type of question, but it may look something like:

Congratulations, you did 3 out of 3 parts correctly.

Overall your answer is: Correct

Remember that for most types of questions you have to get all the pieces right for the question to be graded as correct. Only for multi-part, short answer questions in assignments of type Question or Exam is partial credit available and only if your instructor chooses. You cannot tell on the answer page if partial credit is being awarded. You’ll need to look at your grades on the Unit Menu page to tell.

Answer(s):

The Answer(s) section in the middle part of the page reproduces the question and your submitted responses. If your instructor has chosen to do so, the correct answer(s) may also be presented next to your responses.

Feedback:

The Feedback section is found at the bottom of the page. If your instructor has chosen to provide feedback, it may take a variety of forms. It might give you detailed instructions on how to get the correct answer to the question. Alternatively it might only give you general instructions, hints, or provide common pitfalls. The content of the feedback, if any, is completely determined by the instructor who writes the question.

Remember: For Exam type assignments, your grade, the correct answers, and feedback are not available until after the due date.

Moving On

The status bar at the top of the answer page will be updated with the results of your grade on the question that you just answered.

When you are ready to move on, you can navigate to another question or content page by using the status bar or the Next or Previous buttons on the menu bar. For Question type assignments only (and Exam types after the due date), a Redo Question button is available on the menu bar. This allows you to try the question again if you got it wrong. In QuestionPool type assignments, you cannot do an individual question over again. Once you’ve tried all the questions in the unit, if you have not mastered it, use the Unit Menu button and select the unit again. If you have mastered it, then you still use the Unit Menu button to select another unit on which to work. You can also choose the Assignments button from the menu bar any time that it appears to return to the Course Assignments page.

Note: Training type assignments have their own type of navigation when you are reading to move on.
